Water In Is Not Coffee Out
A filter ratio uses the water added to the grounds. An espresso ratio uses the beverage collected in the cup. Grounds retain water, so the two values are not interchangeable.
These calculations scale weights; they do not predict extraction or guarantee a particular flavour. Larger filter batches may need a grind or pouring adjustment. Espresso doses must fit the intended basket range.
